At Rock On Racing, you’re not just joining a tour, you’re stepping into our Alaska life and joining the ‘pack’. From the moment you arrive, you’ll be welcomed like friends, and we guarantee you’ll leave feeling like family.
Our unique experiences offer a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the world of competitive distance dog mushing. On every tour, guests will learn about our daily routines and what it takes to live, work, and play off the grid in wild Alaska, where temperatures can plunge to -60°F during the winter months.

With a family motto of “Be Alive”, the Randalls live, work, and play by this mantra; homeschooling AddieAnn and Thale with a freedom to hunt, fish, mush, and learn by exploring the exciting world around them. Both Thale and AddieAnn have youth-distance race top finishes under their belts, and AddieAnn is poised to compete in Iditarod 2027, starting the race on her 18th birthday. Thale is also an accomplished trapper, managing his trapline via dog team. His wintry adventures can be followed on the Rock On Racing YouTube channel.
A cancer survivor, Casey began mushing competitively under the “Be Alive!” message, and dad Matt started his mushing journey to round out the Rock On Racing team.

Sponsoring one of our sled dogs is a fun way to be a very special and important part of our competitive distance mushing team. Take a look at these amazing athletes who are also the biggest snuggle bugs!
Minus 60 degrees Fahrenheit is no joke! Luckily it isn't usually THAT cold, but we often mush in minus 20s & 30s. The sled dogs love the cold but we mushers need to bundle up. We even have coats for the dogs. Thank you for helping to keep us all warm out there.
It is because of the support and contributions of visitors and friends that the Rock On Racing team (and the rock stars themselves) are fueled up and ready to race. You also help us educate others and build confidence and responsibility in our children. We are a small family doing big things; the “little kennel that could!”
